GRAND WORTHY PATRON

Q Joseph Kent, 33º

Rev. Q Joseph Kent, 33⁰, KT was born in Dallas, TX and raised in Louisville, KY. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and earned his Master of Science in Business from Full Sail University. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in Southern Cross Lodge #39 in Louisville, KY and went on to become a charter member of James A. Myers Lodge #349 (Nashville, TN) in 2014, where he is a Past Master and permanent member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Tennessee.

In 2015, Bro. Kent affiliated with Capitol Hill OES Chapter #133 (Nashville, TN) where he was elected as the Worthy Patron for several administrations before becoming the District Patron for the Nashville OES District. That same year, he also became a member of Mt. Sinai Chapter #135 HRAM, Mt. Ararat Council #5 R&S, Apollo Commandery #1 KT, Hella Temple #105 AEAONMS, B. L. Hooks Council #104 KOPH, and J. A. Henry Consistory #48 AASR, where he is a Past Commander-in-Chief. In 2016, Bro. Kent was also a part of helping to charter the Knights of Prince Hall (KOPH) youth organization as an independent appendant body of masonry in Tennessee. In October of 2021, he was humbled by being unanimously elected to become a Grand Inspector General, commonly known as a thirty-third degree (33°) mason. He became an honorary member of the United Supreme Council, AASR, SJ, PHA, Dr. Deary Vaughn Class of 2021. By doing so, he received the highest degree of a Prince Hall Mason.

Bro. Kent first served Excelsior Grand Chapter in official capacity with his appointment as the Grand Aide to now Grand Worthy Patron Emeritus, Rev. Bro. Willie L. Jackson, Sr., 33º. In October 2022, Bro. Kent and Bro. Antoine Miller were appointed by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Bro. L. Lamont Banks to serve as Grand Worthy Patron and Grand Associate Patron, respectively. Bro. Kent was recently elected as the Grand Associate Patron for the South Region of the Conference of Grand Matrons & Grand Patrons in January of 2024. And also assists and serves on the IT Committee for the general Conference of Grand Matrons & Grand Patrons.

Outside of masonry, Bro. Kent gives his time and talents as a member of the Nashville Chapter of NAACP and the Omega Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a host and graphic designer for the Worldwide Fleet DJs, in the Tennessee Division. And also serves as the Assistant Manager for the Fleet DJs Gospel Division. 

An ordained minister, Bro. Kent has been laboring in the Gospel ministry for almost 20 years. He works as a Gospel radio personality in the Nashville area and he runs his own businesses as a graphic designer, a notary signing agent, and a music publisher. He is also an internet radio station owner and program director for Black Label Experience Radio and Black Label Experience Gospel Radio.
